Common questions

When does the platform fee apply?
Only on completed bookings. If a booking is cancelled, no-shows, or never confirmed, neither side pays anything to treadworks.
Are there any monthly or listing fees?
No. Mechanics list for free and only pay when they get paid. Riders never pay a subscription — just the 10% service fee at checkout per booking.
How do I get paid as a mechanic?
Payouts go to your connected bank account after each completed job. We're integrating Stripe Connect for payouts — the rough timeline is one business day after the rider confirms the work is done.
What about parts?
Parts are billed separately from labor. Riders see the part on their booking, can order via the suggested retailer, and track shipment status in the app. treadworks does not take a cut on parts.
Is there a cancellation fee?
Each mechanic sets their own cancellation policy — flexible, moderate, or strict. We show it before you book so there are no surprises.
How is the travel fee calculated?
Mechanics who offer mobile service set their own flat travel fee. It shows up as a separate line item on your booking total before you confirm.
