We got tired of waiting.
Nobody should be off their bike for three weeks because the shop is backed up. So we built another way.
The problem
If you ride in Colorado, you know the routine. Drop your bike off in June. Get a text in mid-July. Pay more than you expected. Repeat.
The big shops are doing their best, but they're overbooked from the first warm weekend until snowfall. Meanwhile great mechanics — ones working out of garages, mobile vans, or one-person shops — are invisible to most riders.
What we actually want
We want our bikes fixed quickly, by someone who knows what they're doing, at a fair price. We want to talk to the person doing the work, not a service-desk queue. We want to ride this weekend, not next month.
That's it. That's the whole pitch.

treadworks is a marketplace that connects riders with independent mountain bike mechanics across Colorado. Search by city. Read real reviews. Book a service that fits your schedule — they come to you, or you drop off at their place.
For unusual jobs or weird symptoms, describe what's going on and let multiple mechanics quote it. No more guessing what something should cost or who to trust.
We're a small team that rides the same trails as everyone else, runs into the same shop backlogs, and built the thing we wanted to use.
What we care about

- →Mechanics deserve to set their own rates, hours, and standards — and keep most of what they earn.
- →Trust is non-negotiable. Reviews are real. Disputes get a human reviewer.
